Qatari Prime Minister Discusses Latest Regional Developments with Russian Foreign Minister

Doha, Aug 4 (KUNA) -- Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held talks today with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the latest regional developments. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the discussion took place during a phone call between the two sides, during which they reviewed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to support and strengthen them, as well as the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and enhance security and stability in the region. During the call, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister emphasized the necessity for all parties to commit to dialogue and diplomacy, and to implement the agreements reached under the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, including ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to safeguard regional security, preserve achieved gains, and bolster regional stability.
