Organization of Islamic Cooperation Condemns Escalating Israeli Crimes in Gaza Strip

Jeddah, Aug 4 (KUNA) -- The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its strong condemnation today on Tuesday of the continuous Israeli crimes and violations in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly the targeting of health and residential facilities and the tents of displaced persons in the Gaza Strip, in a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
In a statement, the OIC General Secretariat warned of the seriousness of the continued and escalating crimes of colonial settlement and the organized terrorism carried out by extremist settlers under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces throughout the occupied West Bank, including Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem). It stressed the necessity of taking firm measures to halt these violations and crimes and to hold their perpetrators accountable.
It reiterated the need to compel the Israeli occupation forces to comply with their obligations under the ceasefire agreement and to begin implementing the second phase of the peace plan pursuant to United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, which includes opening all crossings and ensuring the adequate and unhindered delivery of aid, as well as the complete withdrawal of occupation forces. It also affirmed the indivisibility of the Palestinian territories and the necessity of enabling the Government of the State of Palestine to assume its responsibilities throughout all occupied Palestinian territories, including the Gaza Strip.
