Qatari Prime Minister holds phone talks with Gulf foreign ministers on regional developments

Doha, Aug 3 (KUNA) -- The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held talks today, Monday, with several of his Gulf counterparts to discuss the latest regional developments. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that this came during phone calls between the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister and the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan; the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan; the Omani Foreign Minister, Badr Al Busaidi; and the Bahraini Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, each separately. During the calls, the parties reviewed cooperation relations and the latest regional developments, particularly the diplomatic efforts undertaken and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and enhance security and stability in the region. The Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister emphasized during the calls the necessity for all parties to commit to dialogue and diplomacy, and to implement what was agreed upon under the framework of the US-Iran memorandum of understanding, including ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to safeguard regional security, preserve achieved gains, and reinforce regional stability.
