Bahraini King and Egyptian President Discuss Close Fraternal Relations and Paths of Joint Cooperation

Manama, August 3 (KUNA) -- Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held talks today, Monday, with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the close fraternal ties and robust paths of joint cooperation between the two countries, affirming their commitment to continuing to support and strengthen these relations in a manner that serves the interests of both nations and meets the aspirations of their peoples.

This came during a telephone call made by King Hamad to President el-Sisi, in which he inquired about the situation in Egypt following the recent earthquake, praying to God Almighty to protect Egypt and its people from all harm and misfortune, and to perpetuate the blessings of security and stability upon the country, according to the Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

The agency stated that King Hamad emphasized during the call the Kingdom of Bahrain’s solidarity and its full support for the Arab Republic of Egypt in these circumstances.

For his part, President el-Sisi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the King of Bahrain for the kind and noble sentiments he had shown toward Egypt and its people, which reflect the depth of the distinguished historical relations and ties binding the two countries. He wished the Kingdom of Bahrain and its noble people continued prosperity, progress, and development under the wise leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Earlier, the Egyptian National Institute of Geophysics, Astronomy and Geology announced at dawn that stations of the national seismic monitoring network recorded an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 on the Richter scale, located 38 kilometers east of the city of Suez, which is approximately 130 kilometers east of Cairo.
