Arab League Secretary-General condemns Israeli occupation attacks on Gaza and holds it responsible for the escalation

Cairo, Aug 3 (KUNA) – Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy on Monday strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ bombardment of the Gaza Strip, which targeted tents for displaced persons and residential apartments, resulting in dozens of martyrs and wounded. In a statement, Fahmy placed full responsibility on the Israeli occupation for its violations against Palestinians and its attempts to sabotage mediation efforts aimed at securing a ceasefire and transitioning to the second phase of the agreement. He said the bombardment coincides with a broad military campaign in the West Bank, including demolition operations and arrests in several cities, reflecting a clear attempt by the occupation to undermine the roadmap announced two days ago as a basis for moving to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement and beginning to end the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza and achieve the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces. He stressed that the occupation must not be allowed to extend and expand its areas of control in the Gaza Strip in pursuit of internal agendas embraced by its leaders and figures, emphasizing the necessity of holding it accountable for its violations and illegal measures against the Palestinian people.
