GCC Secretary General Meets with Yemeni Foreign Minister on Latest Developments in Yemen

Riyadh, 3 Aug (KUNA) -- The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Budaiwi, held talks today, Monday, with Yemeni Foreign Minister Dr. Afrah Al-Zoubi on the latest developments in Yemen and the efforts undertaken to enhance security and stability, and to support peace and development processes. The GCC Secretariat General stated in a press release that the meeting took place during Al-Budaiwi’s reception of the Yemeni Foreign Minister at the Secretariat’s headquarters in Riyadh, where the discussion covered the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the GCC and Yemen. The release noted that Al-Budaiwi reaffirmed the Council’s firm and supportive stance toward all initiatives aimed at achieving security and stability in brotherly Yemen, and reiterated its continued backing of all humanitarian and relief efforts designed to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people, in coordination with regional and international partners. Al-Budaiwi extended his congratulations to Dr. Afrah Al-Zoubi on her appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen, wishing her success and effectiveness in carrying out her duties.
