25 killed and injured in suicide attack targeting police station in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province

Islamabad, Feb 8 (KUNA) -- Seven people were killed and 18 others were injured in varying degrees following a suicide attack targeting a Pakistani police station in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of northern Pakistan on Sunday. Omar Khan, the police chief of Swat district, said in a statement that the suicide bomber detonated himself as security forces attempted to search him at the gate of the Kapala police station in the district. He added that the explosion resulted in the deaths of seven people and injuries to 18 others, including Pakistani police officers, “in an initial tally that is subject to increase.” He noted that security authorities had sealed off the scene, where intensive searches and evidence collection operations have begun to apprehend the perpetrators.
