The occupation army continues its aggression on Gaza, leaving 18 martyrs and dozens of injured
Gaza, Feb 8 (KUNA) -- The Israeli occupation army continued its aggression against the Gaza Strip on Sunday, leaving 18 martyrs and dozens of injured in multiple strikes that targeted residential homes, a shelter for displaced persons, and civilian vehicles across various parts of the Strip. This came after six martyrs were recorded in two airstrikes on a displaced persons’ shelter and a civilian vehicle in Gaza City.
Health authorities said in a statement that two Palestinians, including a child, were killed and eight others were injured, some seriously, after a drone struck a gathering of Palestinians in an area hosting a large number of displaced persons west of Gaza City. The injured were transported to Al-Shifa Medical Complex.
The health authorities added that four Palestinians were killed in another strike by occupation aircraft on a civilian vehicle in central Gaza City. One of the martyrs was taken to Al-Shifa Medical Complex, while the other three were transported to the Al-Saraya Field Hospital, affiliated with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society.
For his part, Mahmoud Bassal, spokesperson for the Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip, said in a press statement that Israeli occupation forces had intensified their airstrikes on the Strip at an unprecedented pace since early morning hours, noting that more than ten consecutive strikes had resulted in the death and injury of a large number of citizens, while bombardment operations continued.
Health authorities had earlier recorded the martyrdom of 12 Palestinians in a series of airstrikes since dawn, raising the total number of martyrs to 18 and dozens of injured due to the continuation of Israeli strikes that targeted northern, central, and southern parts of the Gaza Strip amid escalating military operations and ongoing targeting of populated areas and shelters for displaced persons.
