Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Inspects the Government Services Hall Project for Persons with Disabilities at the Ministries Complex

Kuwait City, 2 Aug (KUNA) -- Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailan, Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood and Chair of the Supreme National Committee for the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, today, Sunday, reviewed a visual presentation of the project to establish and develop a hall dedicated to serving persons with disabilities at the Ministries Complex.

In a press statement, Al-Huwailan said the presentation, delivered by the Ministry of Finance, outlined the artistic and engineering vision for the project, which is being implemented by a specialized company. The project aims to provide a hall that brings together representatives from various government entities to deliver their services in a single location.

She added that the project contributes to streamlining procedures and improving the experience of visitors with disabilities and their families through a unified service point that saves time and effort while enhancing the quality of government services provided to them.

She explained that the presentation included the key components of the project, such as designing the hall in accordance with universal accessibility standards, providing pathways and facilities tailored to various disability categories, alongside modern wayfinding systems and supportive devices and technologies.

Al-Huwailan emphasized that the project is part of the action plan of the Supreme National Committee for the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, reflecting the state’s commitment to developing government services and adapting their facilities to ensure easy access.

She noted that the project enhances the independence of persons with disabilities, enabling them to access services efficiently and with dignity, thereby reinforcing the principles of equality, equal opportunity, and social inclusion.

Al-Huwailan commended the efforts of the Ministry of Finance, in coordination with relevant government entities, to implement the project, affirming that this collaboration embodies the determination of state institutions to unify efforts in providing an integrated service environment that addresses the needs of persons with disabilities.

She stressed that the Supreme National Committee continues to monitor initiatives and projects that contribute to implementing the provisions of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and translating its objectives into practical projects that enhance quality of life and support the development of more comprehensive and sustainable government services.
