Arab League: Empowering Arab Youth and Preparing Young Cadres to Meet Labor Market Requirements

Cairo, August 2 (KUNA) – The Arab League reaffirmed today its commitment to preparing Arab youth, developing their capabilities, and training a new generation of Arab cadres capable of meeting labor market demands. In his opening address at the 2026 Summer Training Program (second cohort), Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Sector at the League, Ambassador Mohammed Al-Ajiri, stated that the General Secretariat is keen on preparing Arab youth and providing them with opportunities to learn about the League’s operational mechanisms and its role in supporting joint Arab efforts. Ambassador Al-Ajiri added that the program, which involves 70 trainees from various academic disciplines across member states, reflects the League’s interest in preparing young Arab cadres capable of keeping pace with labor market requirements through the development of practical skills and the exchange of expertise, thereby contributing to development efforts in Arab countries. He clarified that the program aims to enhance participants’ knowledge of the operational mechanisms within the Arab League and provide them with opportunities to observe the nature of work across its various sectors, while benefiting from the institutional expertise held by the General Secretariat. The opening of the second cohort follows the conclusion of the first cohort in late July, as part of the annual program organized by the Arab League to host university students from various Arab countries.
