Drones target offices of Iran opponents near Erbil... no casualties

Erbil, 31 July (KUNA) -- Kurdish opposition parties and organizations in Iran announced on Friday that their offices in the suburbs of Erbil, the capital of Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, were targeted by drone attacks, with no casualties reported. The Iranian Kurdish Democratic Party stated in a statement that two drones struck the Azadi camp in the Qayyarah district north of Erbil, causing material damage but no injuries. Meanwhile, the so-called “Iranian Kurdish Struggle Organization” said in a separate statement that a drone targeted its main headquarters west of Erbil, without specifying the extent of the damage. The organization is one of the opposition parties in Iranian Kurdistan and a member of the Iranian Kurdistan Parties Alliance, whose main office is located on the Erbil-Makhmur road. Since the beginning of Iran’s recent war, the organization’s offices have been repeatedly targeted by drones and missiles, resulting in several casualties and injuries. Since the start of the war on February 28, the Kurdistan Region has been subjected to more than 940 drone and missile attacks. (End) S.B.R. / H.S.S.
