Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences Concludes the Tenth Edition of the "Generation of Science" Program
Kuwait City, July 31 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) announced on Friday the conclusion of the tenth edition of the “Generation of Science” program for 2026, which targeted middle and high school students. The program delivered an interactive educational experience that combined scientific lectures, practical workshops, experiments, and field visits.
In a press statement, KFAS said the program is part of its efforts to foster young people’s interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and to promote a culture of research and innovation within an enabling environment that facilitates the transition from knowledge acquisition to hands-on experience and application.
The foundation explained that the program’s content was tailored to the age and cognitive levels of participants. The middle school phase focused on cultivating scientific passion and enhancing thinking and communication skills, while the high school phase offered deeper content in creative thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
KFAS noted that the program engaged a distinguished group of Kuwaiti academics and researchers to deliver rich content aligned with Kuwait’s priorities and developmental needs. It also provided students with opportunities to explore diverse scientific disciplines, visit academic environments to investigate their interests, and develop a clear vision for their future career paths.
The foundation highlighted that the high school phase concluded with an exhibition of student projects, showcasing 20 scientific and innovative project groups based on national priorities. This exhibition served as a practical platform that enabled students to apply the skills they had acquired, particularly in scientific communication and simplifying concepts for the public.
KFAS emphasized that the program’s continuation for its tenth year reflects its commitment to investing in the country’s young human capital and preparing a generation equipped with the knowledge and skills to contribute to Kuwait’s future, in line with the foundation’s 2025–2029 strategy, which aims to develop capabilities and enhance the role of science in building a knowledge-based economy.
