Qatari Prime Minister welcomes Hamas's decision to accept the roadmap for the Gaza agreement
Doha, July 31 (KUNA) -- The Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, welcomed on Friday the decision by Hamas to accept the roadmap aimed at completing the implementation of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said this came during a telephone call between Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman and Dr. Khalil al-Hayya, head of Hamas’s political bureau.
At the outset of the call, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister congratulated Dr. Khalil al-Hayya on assuming his duties, expressing his best wishes for his success in serving the interests of the brotherly Palestinian people. He also welcomed Hamas’s decision to accept the roadmap for completing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, expressing hope that this would help put an end to the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people in the Strip and realize their aspirations for security and stability.
In this context, he stressed “the necessity for the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and pressure Israel to honor its commitments under the agreement and halt its ongoing violations of the rights of the Palestinian people, thereby ensuring the full implementation of the roadmap and achieving peace and stability in the Gaza Strip.” (End) S S S / F A S
