Kuwait's Ambassador to Washington: Committed to Economic Diversification and Innovation Amid Regional Changes

Washington, July 31 (KUNA) – Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United States, Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, reaffirmed today, Friday, Kuwait’s commitment to innovation and economic diversification amid rapid regional changes. This came during her remarks at a roundtable organized by the Middle East Institute in Washington, D.C., on how Kuwait is addressing the ongoing Iranian aggression and its economic repercussions.
The Kuwaiti ambassador highlighted the impact of the crisis on Kuwait and the strong U.S.-Kuwaiti partnership spanning decades, as well as the country’s resilience during this challenging period. She discussed the economic costs of the war alongside ongoing opportunities, drawing attention to the recent announcement of a $16 billion pipeline deal between the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and U.S. companies, marking the largest foreign direct investment in Kuwait’s history.
Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah also emphasized Kuwait’s focus on innovation and economic diversification, starting with artificial intelligence, extending to the medical sector, and reaching other fields, in pursuit of building a promising future for the nation’s youth. (End) A.M.M. / M.K.
