Namaa Charitable Organization launches the "Khair Yuroohim" campaign to provide water to over 500,000 beneficiaries in six countries
Kuwait City, July 31 (KUNA) – Namaa Charity, affiliated with the Al-Isalah Social Association, launched today, Friday, the “Kheer Yuroohim” (Goodness Quenches Their Thirst) campaign, aimed at implementing sustainable water projects in six countries, targeting more than 500,000 beneficiaries by drilling wells and providing water tanks in the most needy areas, foremost among them the Gaza Strip, Yemen, and Sudanese refugee camps in Chad.
Khaled Al-Shamri, Head of the Projects and Development Sector at Namaa Charity, told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the campaign responds to the humanitarian conditions faced by thousands of families deprived of safe drinking water. He noted that it aims to implement 780 water projects, including artesian, semi-artesian, and surface wells, alongside the provision of water tanks in crisis-affected areas.
Al-Shamri added that the campaign has witnessed widespread engagement since its launch, with the number of beneficiaries from funded projects exceeding 100,000 within the first hour. He emphasized that this strong response reflects the confidence of philanthropists in Namaa Charity’s projects and contributes to expanding the campaign’s reach and impact.
He clarified that providing water is a life-sustaining project, as it plays a crucial role in protecting families from diseases, improving health conditions, supporting education, and alleviating the suffering of women and children. He stated that through the efforts of philanthropists, the humanitarian impact achieves sustainability and enhances water security in the most vulnerable communities.
For his part, Waleed Al-Kandari, Director of Public Relations and Media at Namaa Charity, told KUNA in a similar statement that the “Kheer Yuroohim” campaign embodies the continuation of Kuwait’s humanitarian role in supporting communities suffering from water scarcity and strives to convey the true picture of the hardships faced by families lacking access to safe water sources.
Al-Kandari added that the campaign is implemented in accordance with the highest standards of governance and transparency, in coordination with official authorities and field partners, to ensure that donations reach their rightful recipients based on field studies that determine priority needs in each area.
He clarified that water projects are not limited to providing drinking water sources but also contribute to improving health, supporting education, and enhancing social stability, aligning with Namaa Charity’s approach of implementing sustainable developmental projects that create long-term impacts in beneficiary communities.
