Gulf Football Union Announces Postponement of the 2026 Gulf Super Cup Match

Doha, July 31 (KUNA) -- The Gulf Football Union announced on Friday the postponement of the 2026 Gulf Club Super Cup match, which was scheduled to pit Iraqi club Al-Dehqani, winner of the first edition of the Gulf Club Champions League, against Qatari club Al-Rayyan, champion of the second edition.

In a statement, the Union said the match, originally set for August 13, has been postponed to a later date to be determined, due to the current circumstances in the region.

The Union reaffirmed its commitment to hosting the match in the Iraqi province of Dahuk, as previously planned, and announced that the new date would be revealed and all necessary arrangements for the event would be completed in due course, in coordination with the relevant authorities.

This new edition of the Gulf Super Cup represents an important milestone in the development of regional competitions and in strengthening their presence on the Gulf football scene, alongside the widespread fan and media interest expected in the region. (End) S.S.S / M.N.F
