Kuwait City, July 31 (KUNA) -- July 31 ------------------------ 1986 - Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues an emiri decree dissolving the Municipal Council. 1990 - Saudi Arabia hosts Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah and Iraqi Vice Chairman of the Revolutionary Command Council Azzam Ibrahim in Jeddah to contain the crisis manufactured by the Iraqi regime, which falsely accused Kuwait of stealing its oil. However, Iraq failed to conclude the talks after just two hours. 1994 - The Cabinet approves an amendment to Article One of the Civil Code to align it with Islamic jurisprudence provisions that are most consistent with the country’s reality and interests. 2006 - The National Assembly approves a draft law regarding the emiri grant ordered by Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, which stipulates a one-time payment of 200 Kuwaiti dinars to each Kuwaiti citizen. 2015 - The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development signs a loan agreement with the Republic of Benin worth five million Kuwaiti dinars to help finance the construction and equipping of the Tchouro Regional Hospital and six health centers. 2016 - The Ministry of Health signs a contract for the retirees’ health insurance project, valued at 82 million dinars, for a full year. 2017 - The Ministry of Health issues a decision exempting non-Kuwaiti children under the age of 12 suffering from cancer from all fees and financial charges. 2021 - Artist Intisar Al-Sharrah passes away at the age of 59 after a distinguished career in theater and television.
