Kuwait City, July 31 (KUNA) -- The Gaza Peace Council announced on Friday that the Palestinian Hamas movement has agreed to a detailed roadmap for implementing the next phases of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. In a statement posted on its X social media account, the Council added that the agreement is the culmination of months of intensive negotiations and aims to advance the implementation of U.S. President Donald Trump’s vision regarding governance, security, humanitarian relief, reconstruction, and economic recovery in Gaza, in accordance with the comprehensive peace plan and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803. The statement clarified that the roadmap represents a “historic achievement,” noting that it includes, for the first time, an official commitment by Hamas to a phased disarmament plan, followed by the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from Gaza. It further stated that the agreement opens the door to tangible benefits for the people of Gaza. Emphasizing that the current focus is on implementing the agreement, the Council highlighted that it has been working in coordination with the National Gaza Management Committee, which will soon begin a gradual transitional phase to assume full authority, supported by an international stabilization force, while accelerating efforts to establish the rule of law, enhance security, and improve humanitarian conditions.
