Yemeni Foreign Minister Appreciates Kuwait's Stance and Support for Yemen and Its People
Aden, July 30 (KUNA) – Yemeni Foreign Minister Afrah al-Zoubi on Thursday praised the deep Yemeni-Kuwaiti relations, which are rooted in enduring fraternal and historical ties. State news agency Saba reported that this came during a meeting between Minister al-Zoubi and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Yemen, Falah Al-Mutairi, to discuss ways to enhance and develop bilateral relations between the two countries and to explore prospects for expanding joint cooperation across various fields, particularly in political, relief, humanitarian, and developmental aspects.
Al-Zoubi commended Kuwait’s supportive stance toward Yemen, its leadership, and its people, as well as the efforts it has made to back the Yemeni government and its continuous support for developmental and humanitarian progress. She also praised Kuwait’s assistance to Yemen across different stages and circumstances, especially during the current period, highlighting the relief and humanitarian aid and developmental projects provided by Kuwait, which have covered various governorates and contributed to alleviating citizens’ suffering.
She expressed Yemen’s solidarity with Kuwait in light of the malicious Iranian attacks it faces, affirming Yemen’s steadfast support for Kuwait and its measures to safeguard its security and stability, and its rejection of any actions targeting its security and sovereignty.
The Yemeni Foreign Minister also addressed recent developments in Yemen in light of the escalation driven by the Iran-backed Houthi militias, which pose a threat to security and stability and impose political, humanitarian, and economic challenges. She affirmed that the Yemeni government remains committed to its efforts to restore state institutions and consolidate security and stability.
For his part, Kuwait’s Ambassador to Yemen, Falah Al-Mutairi, reaffirmed Kuwait’s continued support and steadfastness alongside Yemen, its unity, security, and stability. He emphasized Kuwait’s commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation relations across various fields and continuing to support humanitarian and developmental efforts that contribute to achieving security and stability and meeting the Yemeni people’s aspirations for peace and development.
