The Kingdom of Bahrain condemns the renewed brutal Iranian attacks on civilian and vital facilities in the State of Kuwait
Manama, July 30 (KUNA) -- The Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its strong condemnation and deep regret on Thursday over the renewed Iranian attacks on civilian and vital facilities in the sister State of Kuwait, which targeted a building belonging to a Chinese company in the north of the country, resulting in the death of one worker and causing serious material damage to the building.
In a statement, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs described these attacks as a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty, a direct threat to its security and the safety of civilians, a serious breach of the rules of international law and the UN Charter, and a flagrant violation of Security Council Resolution 2817.
The ministry reaffirmed Bahrain’s full solidarity with the sister State of Kuwait and its unwavering support in confronting these unjustified and reprehensible attacks, as well as its full backing of all lawful measures Kuwait takes to safeguard its sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity. This stance is rooted in the close historical fraternal ties between the leaderships and peoples of the two brotherly countries, and underscores that Kuwait’s security and stability are an integral part of the security of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
The ministry praised the competence of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces and relevant authorities in protecting the country’s security and ensuring the safety of citizens and residents, and conveyed its sincere condolences and sympathies to the family of the deceased.
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed its call on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to fulfill its responsibilities by taking urgent, deterrent, and firm measures to compel Iran to comply with international law and the UN Charter, to halt its repeated reprehensible attacks on the countries and peaceful peoples of the region, to respect the sovereignty and security of states, and to guarantee freedom and safety of maritime navigation, thereby contributing to de-escalation and the enhancement of regional and international security and stability.
