Egyptian President and Libyan Prime Minister Discuss Enhancing Joint Cooperation to Support Regional Stability

Cairo, July 30 (KUNA) -- Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Libyan National Unity Government head Abdulhamid Dbeibah today, Thursday, discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and developments in regional and international issues, as well as opportunities for joint coordination to contribute to supporting regional peace and stability.

The Egyptian presidential spokesperson, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, said in a statement that the meeting, held in Alamein, underscored the importance of resolving regional disputes through dialogue and peaceful means, with an agreement to intensify consultations and coordination between the two countries to address common challenges.

President el-Sisi emphasized during the meeting the depth of the historical and fraternal relations binding Egypt and Libya, stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation across various fields to serve the interests of both peoples, and reiterating Egypt’s supportive stance toward Libya’s stability and territorial integrity.

He pointed out the importance of expanding joint cooperation, particularly in the sectors of electricity, energy, infrastructure, and reconstruction, alongside increasing the volume of trade and investments between the two countries.

For his part, Dbeibah affirmed the importance of Egyptian-Libyan relations, stressing the necessity of continuing their development in various priority fields to support development and prosperity in both countries.
