Kuwait City, July 30 (KUNA) -- July 30, 1936: Establishment of the first Board of Education to set educational policy guidelines in Kuwait and determine implementation methods. 1944: Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues the first health law, comprising 14 articles, marking the first regulatory legislation for public health in Kuwait. 1984: Artist Ouda Al-Mahana passes away at the age of 85; she was the most prominent singer of folk music in Kuwait and the Gulf region, particularly Al-Khamari music. 2007: Kuwaiti Deputy Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues a law concerning visual and audio media, permitting television or radio broadcasting activities upon obtaining a broadcast license issued in accordance with the law’s provisions by the Ministry of Information. 2008: Jassim Mohammed Al-Bahar passes away at the age of 66; he was a businessman in Kuwait and the region, having founded one of the largest economic groups in the area, encompassing numerous companies operating across various sectors. 2009: Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah inaugurates the Islamic Cultural Center school in New York City, United States. 2009: Issa Abdul-Latif Abdul-Jaleel passes away at the age of 97; he was Kuwait’s first ambassador abroad after independence, appointed as Kuwait’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia and later to Morocco. He also served as Director of the Port and Director of the Municipality. 2010: Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah Al-Salim Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, President of the Asian Shooting Confederation and the Kuwait Shooting Club, is elected Vice President of the International Shooting Sport Federation during the General Assembly meetings in Munich, Germany. 2013: Kuwaiti Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues an amnest decree pardoning all individuals against whom final judgments had been rendered in cases involving offenses against the dignity of the Amir. 2015: The Ministry of Interior announces the detection and arrest of members of a terrorist network affiliated with the so-called ISIS terrorist organization, comprising five Kuwaiti suspects.
