Nine Palestinians injured after homes and areas in Gaza Strip targeted

Gaza, July 29 (KUNA) -- Nine Palestinians were injured today, Wednesday, following two Israeli occupation airstrikes that targeted two homes in western Gaza City, while a third strike hit the Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, as military escalation continued across the Strip.

Gaza health authorities stated that ambulance crews transported seven injured individuals to Al-Shifa Medical Complex after a Palestinian family’s home was struck south of the Shati’ refugee camp, west of Gaza City. Two other Palestinians suffered varying degrees of injury in a second Israeli airstrike that targeted a home north of the camp.

In central Gaza, Israeli occupation aircraft violently struck the area around the Martyrs’ Roundabout in the Al-Bureij refugee camp, sending plumes of smoke rising from the site. Ambulance and civil defense teams rushed to the targeted area.

Eyewitnesses told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the day’s strikes caused widespread destruction to residential buildings and inflicted significant damage to infrastructure, including water networks, power lines, and power generators, exacerbating the population’s suffering and disrupting additional essential services.

They added that the continuous bombardment forced large numbers of families to flee their homes and shelters to other areas, amid a lack of safe locations or shelters capable of accommodating displaced persons, thereby intensifying fear and anxiety among displaced families, particularly as the airstrikes continued through the night.

This comes as the Israeli occupation continues to issue new evacuation orders in various parts of the Gaza Strip, compelling civilians to undertake forced displacement and abandon their homes and nearby shelters in close proximity to targeted areas, under extremely difficult humanitarian conditions.
