Egypt and Pakistan Foreign Ministers Emphasize Importance of De-escalation and Halting Military Operations

Cairo, July 29 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar stressed on Wednesday the importance of de-escalation, halting military operations, and prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions to address regional crises. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release that this came during a phone call between the two sides to discuss regional developments and ways to support security and stability in the region, where they emphasized the necessity of continuing close coordination and consultation between the two countries to support the negotiation process and enhance regional security and stability. The statement said the call addressed developments regarding the Palestinian issue, with Minister Abdelatty expressing deep concern over dangerous developments in the occupied Palestinian territories. Abdelatty condemned the ongoing violations by the Israeli occupation in the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem and Gaza Strip, and the escalation witnessed there, which undermines the chances of achieving peace and the two-state solution. In this context, the Egyptian Foreign Minister pointed to the importance of implementing US President Donald Trump’s peace plan for Gaza with all its obligations, which would contribute to consolidating the ceasefire, ensuring full access for humanitarian aid, and preparing the conditions for transitioning to subsequent phases.
