Pakistani Prime Minister Receives Kuwaiti Foreign Minister, Discusses Latest Regional Developments

Islamabad, July 29 (KUNA) -- Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today, Wednesday, received Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on the occasion of his official visit to the capital, Islamabad.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the meeting reviewed the deep-rooted historical bilateral relations between the two countries and their friendly peoples, and discussed ways to enhance and strengthen the prospects of joint cooperation in various fields to serve the common interests of both nations. It added that the latest regional developments and efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in the region were also discussed.

According to the statement, Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah expressed Kuwait’s appreciation for the active diplomatic role played by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in supporting the security and stability of the region.

During the meeting, Sheikh Jaraah Al-Sabah conveyed greetings from the political leadership to the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, and to the Prime Minister, along with best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly Pakistani government and people.

The meeting was attended by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as the ministers of Defence, Commerce, National Food Security, Research, Communications, Maritime Affairs, and Petroleum, along with several senior Pakistani officials. (End) A.A.
