Arab League Secretary-General Condemns Attacks on Saudi Arabia and Jordan, Describes Them as Dangerous Escalation by Iran and Its Proxies

Cairo, July 29 (KUNA) -- Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy expressed his strong condemnation today, Wednesday, of the repeated targeting of oil facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province and of attacks on the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan by drones.

In a statement, Fahmy said these acts represent a dangerous and irresponsible escalation by Iran and its proxies, posing a threat to the security and stability of the region and undermining efforts to consolidate peace and stability. He called on the international community to take a firm stance against these attacks to prevent their recurrence, hold those responsible accountable, and ensure that the region does not become an open arena for threats targeting vital economic and strategic infrastructure.

He emphasized that respecting the sovereignty of states and refraining from targeting their vital facilities constitute a fundamental pillar for preserving regional security and stability. He stressed that the security of Saudi Arabia and Jordan and the integrity of their territories are an integral part of the Arab national security framework, reaffirming the Arab League’s support for all legitimate measures they undertake to protect their national security and safeguard the integrity of their territories.
