Tunisian and Jordanian Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Regional and International Developments

Tunis, July 28 (KUNA) -- Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Nafati held talks with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi today, Tuesday, on enhancing bilateral cooperation across all fields and on regional and international developments in the region. The Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the discussion took place during a phone call, during which both sides stressed the importance of supporting and strengthening the fraternal relations and cooperation between Tunisia and Jordan, particularly in the fields of trade, investment, transport, and human resources, as well as exchanging views and consulting on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest. The two ministers also discussed, according to the statement, regional and international developments, especially the latest developments in the holy city of Jerusalem, emphasizing the need to counter violations and attempts aimed at altering the legal and historical status of the holy city and safeguarding its sanctities. For his part, Nafati reiterated during the call Tunisia’s firm and supportive position regarding the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
