European Union strongly condemns attack on French diplomats in Tehran

Brussels, July 28 (KUNA) -- The European Union today, Tuesday, strongly condemned the attack on two diplomats from the French Embassy in Tehran by Iranian security forces on July 19. In a statement on behalf of the EU, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said, “These acts constitute a blatant violation of the Vienna Conventions and threaten the very essence of diplomatic relations.” The EU reaffirmed its solidarity with France, calling on Iran to bring those responsible for the attack to justice and to fully comply with its international obligations.
