Foreign Minister Participates in Consultative Gulf Ministerial Meeting (Remote) on Current Developments

Kuwait City, July 28 (KUNA) -- Foreign Minister Sheikh Jaraah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah participated today, Tuesday, in a consultative meeting held by the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries via video conferencing. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the ministers exchanged views on developments in the current phase, updates on ongoing negotiations, and efforts to advance them toward practical understandings that contribute to reducing tensions and enhancing the regional security and stability environment. The ministry added that the ministers also discussed ways to intensify coordination and consultation among GCC member states regarding issues related to freedom of navigation and its safety in the Strait of Hormuz, ensuring the rights of passage and transit, the smooth flow of shipping, trade, and supplies in accordance with international law, and safeguarding the sovereign rights of all coastal states of the Gulf waters. The statement noted that the ministers emphasized during the meeting the importance of continuing joint efforts, prioritizing political and diplomatic approaches, and creating favorable conditions for building trust and reaching acceptable solutions for all parties.
