Qatar strongly condemns the renewed attacks on Jordan

Doha, July 28 (KUNA) — Qatar strongly condemned today, Tuesday, the renewed attacks on the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, deeming them a blatant violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a flagrant breach of international law and the UN Charter. In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the continuation of these attacks constitutes a serious escalation that could complicate efforts to contain tensions and undermine political and diplomatic initiatives aimed at achieving security and stability in the region. The ministry stressed the urgent need for an immediate and complete halt to all military actions and attacks threatening the region’s security and stability, and for refraining from any measures that might widen the scope of escalation, as well as for a serious return to dialogue and negotiations, and commitment to the understandings reached through diplomatic efforts. Qatar reaffirmed its full solidarity with and support for the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and for all measures it takes to safeguard its sovereignty and security. Earlier, on Monday, the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces announced that the Royal Jordanian Air Force intercepted and shot down two drones that targeted Jordanian territory.
