Turkish and Sudanese Foreign Ministers Discuss Enhancing Political, Economic, and Trade Cooperation in Ankara

Istanbul, July 28 (KUNA) -- Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held talks with his Sudanese counterpart, Mohi ad-Din Salem, today on Tuesday, examining the political, economic, and commercial dimensions of relations between Turkey and Sudan.

In a post on the Turkish social media platform X (formerly Twitter) following his meeting with his Sudanese counterpart in the capital Ankara, Fidan stated that Turkey would continue to support efforts aimed at ending the conflict in Sudan, while also continuing to meet the humanitarian needs of Sudanese people and sustaining developmental aid as part of Sudan’s reconstruction process.

He added that he held extensive consultations on regional developments, notably the situation in the Horn of Africa, alongside issues related to global security.

Fidan further said, “We will continue to uphold our principled stance supporting the preservation of Sudan’s independence, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. We will move forward to deepen our bilateral relations, which are based on mutual respect and the principle of equal partnership, drawing on the deep-rooted historical ties that bind our two countries.”
