Ukrainian President: Discussed with Trump ways to reactivate peace talks with Russia
Washington, July 28 (KUNA) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described his meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday as “productive,” noting that the two sides discussed ways to revitalize peace talks with Russia and addressed issues of mutual interest.
In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Zelenskyy said, “I held a productive meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office. Thank you for everything we are doing together to protect Ukrainian lives and promote peace.”
President Trump received his Ukrainian counterpart at the White House on Tuesday, holding talks that covered developments in the Ukraine-Russia war and regional and international issues. The White House has not yet issued a statement on the substance of the meeting.
Zelenskyy added that the bilateral discussions with the United States addressed the issue of licenses for the production of Patriot interceptor missiles and other insights that serve the interests of both countries.
