London: British Prime Minister discusses with Ukrainian President enhancing defense cooperation

London, July 28 (KUNA) -- Britain announced on Tuesday that its Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, discussed with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ways to expand bilateral defense cooperation amid Kyiv’s war against Moscow. A British government statement said that Burnham, while at the Royal Navy base in Portsmouth, expressed his hope to send a strong message to the Ukrainian people affirming his personal commitment to Ukraine, during his reception of President Zelenskyy in the United Kingdom as the first foreign visitor to the country since he assumed the premiership. The statement clarified that Burnham and Zelenskyy discussed the ground situation and agreed that Ukraine’s success in rapidly leveraging innovation to exploit vulnerabilities in Russian offensive operations would be a key factor in Europe’s future security. It noted that both sides also explored ways to enhance diplomatic and military cooperation to support Ukraine’s defenses. President Zelenskyy had visited the United Kingdom on Monday. During this visit, the United Kingdom shared intellectual property with Ukraine regarding an electronic jamming technology known as “Stone Clock,” which can be used to disrupt Russian air defense systems and prevent the tracking and targeting of drones employing this technology.
