Algerian President and Italian Prime Minister Discuss Enhancing Bilateral Relations

Algiers, July 27 (KUNA) -- Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni held a telephone conversation on Monday to discuss ways to develop bilateral relations between the two countries. The Algerian presidency stated that President Tebboune received a call from Prime Minister Meloni, during which they reviewed bilateral ties. The statement added that both sides expressed satisfaction with cooperation across various economic sectors, particularly energy, and commended the progress made under the MATTI plan. The MATTI plan is an initiative launched by the Italian government in 2024, led by Giorgia Meloni, to reshape Italy’s partnership with Africa, aiming to establish equitable partnerships in migration management and enhance energy security.
