Bahrain condemns attempted drone attack on Saudi oil facilities

Manama, July 27 (KUNA) -- The Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its strong condemnation and outrage today, Monday, over the attempted attack targeting Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities using drones launched from Iraqi territory. In a statement, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the attack as a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter, and a threat to regional security and stability, as well as to energy supplies. The ministry reaffirmed Bahrain’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its complete support for the measures the Kingdom is taking to protect its sovereignty, security, and stability, and to defend its territory and vital civilian infrastructure. It further emphasized Bahrain’s steadfast support for any response Saudi Arabia may decide upon against the sources of this aggression, rooted in the shared destiny and the deep, historic fraternal ties that bind the two countries and their peoples. The ministry clarified that the security and stability of Saudi Arabia are an integral part of Bahrain’s national security, and that any threat to them does not target a single state but affects the security of the entire region and the interests of its peoples. At the same time, the ministry praised the efficiency and high vigilance of Saudi air defenses in detecting, intercepting, and destroying the drones before they reached their targets, thereby preventing casualties and safeguarding civilians and national assets.
