Qatari Prime Minister Discusses Regional Developments with Canadian Foreign Minister

Doha, July 27 (KUNA) -- The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held talks today, Monday, with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand on the latest regional developments. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the discussion took place during a phone call received by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman from Minister Anand, during which they reviewed the cooperative relations between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them, and discussed the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and enhance security and stability in the region. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman emphasized during the call the necessity for all parties to commit to dialogue and diplomacy, and to implement the agreements reached under the memorandum of understanding between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, including ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to safeguard regional security, preserve achieved gains, and bolster regional stability.
