Qatar strongly condemns attempt to target Saudi oil facilities with drones coming from Iraq

Doha, July 27 (KUNA) — The State of Qatar strongly condemned the attacks that sought to target petroleum facilities in the Eastern Province and the Riyadh region of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, using drones launched from Iraqi territory. In a statement issued on Monday, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that these attacks constitute a blatant violation of Saudi sovereignty, a threat to its security and stability, and an infringement on its territorial integrity, as well as a flagrant breach of international law, the United Nations Charter, and principles of good neighborliness. The ministry reaffirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all legitimate measures undertaken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. Earlier on Monday, the Saudi Ministry of Defense announced that it had intercepted and destroyed several drones over the past hours that were launched from Iraqi territory and aimed at petroleum facilities in the Eastern Province and the Riyadh region.
