Jordan condemns attempt to target petroleum facilities in Saudi Arabia

Amman, July 27 (KUNA) -- Jordan today condemned the attacks that attempted to target petroleum facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province and the Riyadh region, launched via drones originating from Iraqi territory. In a press statement, the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs characterized the incidents as a blatant violation of Saudi sovereignty, a threat to its security and stability, and a flagrant breach of international law and the UN Charter. The ministry reaffirmed Jordan’s absolute solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its full support for all measures undertaken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, assets, and the safety of its citizens and residents. Earlier today, the Saudi Ministry of Defense announced that it had intercepted and destroyed several drones over the past hours that had been launched from Iraqi territory and aimed at petroleum facilities in the Eastern Province and the Riyadh region.
