Algiers, 26 July (KUNA) -- Algeria expressed its strong condemnation and rejection today, Sunday, of the repeated attacks committed by Israeli occupation settlers against residents of Palestinian villages and towns in the West Bank and their property. The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release that “Algeria considers these practices, based on violence and intimidation, as an entrenchment of the Israeli occupier’s policy of settler expansion and a undermining of efforts aimed at reviving the peace process and implementing the two-state solution, in blatant violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.” The statement reaffirmed Algeria’s “firm and supportive stance toward the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among which is their right to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its holy capital,” and called on the international community to “take immediate action to put an end to these repeated attacks.” (End) M.R. / M.A. H.A.
