Qatar and Saudi Arabia discuss the latest developments in Lebanon

Doha, July 26 (KUNA) -- Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Al-Khalifa, held a telephone conversation today, Sunday, with Prince Yazeed bin Mohammed, advisor to Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, to discuss the latest developments in Lebanon. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that both sides expressed their satisfaction with the steps being taken by the Lebanese government to strengthen its institutions and extend its authority over the entirety of its territory. According to the statement, the two sides discussed ways to support the Lebanese government’s efforts to address the challenges facing Lebanese displaced persons, including creating appropriate conditions for their return to their areas. In a separate telephone call, Al-Khalifa discussed with Lebanese Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Mitri the efforts being made by the Lebanese government to address the challenges facing the Lebanese state, particularly the return of displaced persons to their areas. Al-Khalifa reaffirmed, according to a separate statement from the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar’s support for efforts aimed at strengthening Lebanese state institutions and consolidating security and stability in the country.
