Qatari Prime Minister Discusses Latest Regional Developments with UAE Deputy Prime Minister

Doha, July 26 (KUNA) -- The Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held talks today with the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to discuss the latest regional developments.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the discussions took place during a phone call between the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The statement added that the call reviewed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to support and strengthen them, and discussed the latest regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and enhance security and stability in the region.

It noted that the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized the need for all parties to commit to dialogue and diplomacy, and to implement the agreements reached under the US-Iran memorandum of understanding, including ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to safeguard regional security, preserve achieved gains, and bolster regional stability.

He reiterated Qatar’s full support for all efforts aimed at defusing tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace in the region. (End) S S S / M A H A
