Kuwait U18 National Basketball Team Loses to Bahrain in Asian Cup Qualifiers

Doha, July 26 (KUNA) -- Kuwait’s under-18 men’s basketball team suffered a 106-51 defeat to Bahrain on Sunday in the Gulf region qualifiers for the FIBA Asia Cup U18, currently being held in the Qatari capital, Doha. In the second match, Qatar edged out Saudi Arabia 80-76. Kuwait had lost its opening match on Saturday to Oman 62-59, while Bahrain defeated Saudi Arabia 62-54. The tournament, held from July 25 to 30 at the Al Gharafa Sports Hall in Qatar, features five teams: Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman. The teams are competing in a round-robin format, with the top two finishers earning berths to the continental finals, to be hosted by India in August. (End) s s s / m a h a
