His Highness the Amir of Kuwait receives a call from the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

Kuwait, July 26 (KUNA) -- His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, received a telephone call this evening from the Right Honourable Andy Burnham, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, who congratulated His Highness on being appointed by His Majesty King Charles III, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, to form a government and assume the office of Prime Minister.

During the call, the two sides reviewed the historical ties between the two countries and their friendly peoples, as well as a number of issues of mutual interest and the latest developments on the regional and international fronts, particularly concerning the current circumstances facing the region, exchanging views on these matters. Mr. Burnham reaffirmed his country’s steadfast support for Kuwait and its friendly people, and its backing for all measures aimed at safeguarding Kuwait’s sovereignty, security, and stability.
