Qatari Prime Minister Discusses Regional Developments with Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and Turkish Foreign Minister

Doha, July 26 (KUNA) -- The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, today, Sunday, discussed the latest regional developments with Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor to the Ruler of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in two separate statements that these discussions took place following a telephone call made by Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman to Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed, and after receiving another call from Minister Fidan.

The statements clarified that during both calls, the parties reviewed cooperation relations between Qatar and each of the United Arab Emirates and Turkey, as well as ways to support and strengthen them. They also discussed recent regional developments, particularly diplomatic efforts and joint coordination to de-escalate tensions and enhance security and stability in the region.

During both calls, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar emphasized the necessity for all parties to commit to dialogue and diplomacy, and to implement the agreements reached under the memorandum of understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, including ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to safeguard regional security, preserve achieved gains, and reinforce regional stability.

He reiterated Qatar’s full support for all efforts aimed at defusing tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace in the region. (End) S.S.S / M.A.A
