Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemns the crimes and terrorism of the colonizers in burning Palestinian mosques

Jeddah, July 26 (KUNA) -- The General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) today, Sunday, strongly condemned the escalating series of crimes and terrorism perpetrated by extremist settler gangs in the occupied Palestinian territories, including the arson of two mosques in the town of Qusra south of Nablus and in the village of Kour south of Tulkarm, as well as the writing of racist and incriminating slogans on their walls.

In a statement, the OIC General Secretariat said that this crime is part of a broad settler and aggressive offensive against Palestinian civilians, carried out with the participation and protection of the Israeli occupation forces, encompassing the entirety of the occupied Palestinian territories in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, including Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem).

It warned that targeting mosques and assaulting holy sites constitute a serious violation of the sanctity of places of worship, freedom of religion and belief, human values, and the principles that ensure the protection and preservation of holy places. It also cautioned against the dangers of igniting religious conflict and the escalation of hate speech and racism against the unarmed Palestinian people.

The OIC called on the international community and all relevant international institutions to condemn these heinous crimes and to act swiftly to take all deterrent measures to halt the criminal campaign being waged against the Palestinian people, including accountability and legal and legislative prosecution of the settler entities and all institutions linked to the Israeli occupation and its illegal system.
