Iraqi and Lebanese Prime Ministers Discuss Bilateral Relations and Several Regional Issues

Baghdad, July 26 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zoubi held talks today with his Lebanese counterpart, Nawaf Salam, on bilateral relations between the two countries and a number of regional issues of mutual interest. The Iraqi News Agency (INA) quoted government spokesperson Haider al-Aboudi as saying that the discussions took place during al-Zoubi’s reception of Salam and the accompanying ministerial delegation at the government palace in Baghdad. Al-Aboudi noted that the two sides would hold a bilateral meeting, followed by an expanded session attended by the relevant ministers responsible for cooperation files between the two countries, to explore ways to strengthen bilateral ties and broaden cooperation in developmental and energy sectors, as well as to discuss regional and international issues. The Lebanese prime minister arrived in Baghdad today at the head of a ministerial delegation comprising Finance Minister Yassin Jaber, Minister of Energy and Water Joe Sadek, and Minister of Communications Charles Hajj, marking the start of an official visit amid regional discussions on energy, transit routes, and Lebanese efforts to develop economic cooperation with Syria, Iraq, and Turkey.
