Bahrain and Ukraine Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional and European Developments

Manama, July 26 (KUNA) -- Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani held a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha, on Sunday, to discuss current developments in the region and in Europe. The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the two ministers discussed during the call efforts to de-escalate tensions and reach political settlements, which would enhance regional and international security and peace, as well as exchanging views on issues and topics of mutual interest. Both ministers emphasized the importance of safeguarding freedom of navigation and the security of international waterways, and protecting civilian vessels, given their impact on ensuring global food and energy security. The statement added that the Ukrainian minister expressed his country’s solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain in light of the attacks it had suffered. The call also covered the friendship between the two countries and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, as well as follow-up on the outcomes of the Ukrainian president’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain last May, in service of the mutual interests of both countries.
