Four militants killed in failed suicide attack in northern Pakistan

Islamabad, July 25 (KUNA) -- The Pakistani Army Command announced on Saturday that its forces thwarted a suicide attack in the Khyber region of northern Pakistan, near the Afghan border. In a statement, the Public Relations Directorate of the Pakistani Army Command said, “A group of terrorists intended to target a Pakistani military border post in the tribal district of Waziristan using a suicide bomber driving a car bomb.” The statement clarified that personnel at the post successfully foiled the suicide attack, with clashes resulting in the deaths of four “terrorist militants,” including the driver of the suicide vehicle. It further noted that the failed suicide attack caused no casualties or material losses among Pakistani forces, adding that Pakistani troops conducted a search and sweep of the area, which led to the killing of three militants who were near the targeted border post.
