Kuwait's Ambassador to the United States of America Participates in the Aspen Institute's 2026 Forum on Work
Washington, July 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait’s Ambassador to the United States, Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah, participated as a keynote speaker at the opening session of the Aspen Institute’s Aspen Ideas Festival 2026, held in Colorado, USA. Her participation was part of the opening session titled “Humanity Today: Where Do We Find Ourselves?”, which examined global transformations amid rapid advances in artificial intelligence and technology, and their impact on trust, identity, leadership, and human values.
During her remarks, she emphasized that the real challenge facing the world today does not lie in the speed of technological development, but in humanity’s ability to keep pace with such developments through wisdom, responsibility, and ethical values. She noted that building trust will become the cornerstone for the prosperity of societies and the stability of international relations in the coming years.
Sheikha Al-Zain also highlighted Kuwait’s experience, illustrating how the country’s foreign policy embodies a commitment to dialogue, diplomacy, and bridge-building as essential tools for enhancing regional and international security and stability. She stressed that leadership in the modern era is no longer measured solely by technical or economic capabilities, but by the ability to uphold human dignity, foster trust, and assume responsibility toward future generations.
This participation carries special symbolic significance, as the Aspen Institute itself occupies a pivotal place in international political memory. It was the venue where former U.S. President George H.W. Bush articulated his historic stance rejecting Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in 1990, alongside the unified position of the international community in defending Kuwait’s sovereignty and condemning the brutal Iraqi aggression.
