Egypt expresses its sincere condolences to Syria over the victims of the Damascus-Deir ez-Zor road accident

Cairo, 25 July (KUNA) -- Egypt expressed its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Syrian government and people on Saturday over the victims of a tragic road accident that occurred on the Deir ez-Zor–Damascus highway, claiming dozens of lives. The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, affirmed its full solidarity with Syria in this tragic loss. It extended its deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the families of the victims, and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured. At least 35 people were killed and 30 others injured in a severe collision between two buses near Palmyra on the highway from the Syrian capital, Damascus, heading toward Deir ez-Zor. The Syrian Arab News Agency reported that the Ministry of Defense dispatched several vehicles to participate in medical evacuation operations and to transport the victims to the Homs Military Hospital.
